Cape Reinga, such a beauty in a sunny day!

The beginning of January I had the opportunity to travel to Cape Reinga with my favourite Martinique couple. We had a bit of alternative route that took us 3 and a half hours  instead of normal 2 and a half hours, but at least we could see a bit more of the inland of Northland, up in the north side of the north island of New Zealand. We drove through the St Hwy that goes from Kawakawa up to Kaitaia, then followed the only road to Cape Reinga that in some points allows nice views of the east and of the west coast, of the sand dunes and of the oceans. Cape Reinga is really touristic, don't expect to arrive there and be the only one at the top of New Zealand, as you might experience in the northeast point of Australia, but still is beautiful. We were lucky and had one of the best day I'd seen in New Zealand so far. Home sweet home!!

I just moved today to my new place! It will be mine just for a month, it is a room with a double bed, enclosed wardrobe, little desk, plenty of space and it feels weird. Last time I had a room like that just on my own was in Cairns, exactly two years ago. I'm not used anymore at my own space and privacy for so long after so long. I unpacked my bag in the afternoon and there is plenty of space not used in the drawers and wardrobe, it just feels awkward having such a big place just for myself. It feels too big! The house were I am at the moment, it's so nice. Once again international people, mostly backpackers on a working holiday from different nationalities and the atmosphere is just so good. I felt welcomed from the first step I moved in the house, because of Tulia, the girl that was living in the room before me and because of my new flatmates, some very chatty and nice.
