Bus trip is reflection time

Written on 19/03.

I'm on a bus from Nelson to Blenheim, just one of the short trips that is taking me around New Zealand.
I've already been here 3 and a half months, stopping to places and enjoying the different areas and regions of New Zealand.
If you read already some other posts you've followed me going from Auckland up north to Northland, down east to Coromandel Peninsula, to Hawkes Bay, Bay of Plenty and Taupo after travelling through Waitomo and Rotorua.
Taupo has been my little home far away from home just for 3 weeks before I headed south through Wellington and reached the south Island with the ferry to Picton and directly went to Nelson where I stopped by for the beginning of the weekend, organised a little adventure hiking trip to Abel Tasman National Park.
I've been traveling most of the time with buses, few times by car with friends and it's so lovely to just sit and sightseeing the countryside.
Malbourhou area is really nice with lots of farms at the feet of valleys with sheep and horses. It's soon noticeable that the hills and cliffs of the south island are higher than the one of the north and quite different in vegetation and forestry.
It's surprising how my mind goes from a place to another already seen trying to makes guess and comparisons, but at the end every place even if similar to another has its own unique characteristics and vibes.

Wellington was such a surprising city, full of arts, music, little coffe and restaurants, all holding their own style and vibe.

Nelson is now considered to be the sunniest place in New Zealand, after stealing the name to Napier and it's a relaxed little place. I ended up to be in this hippie style backpacker, so lovely and different from the rest.
The owner and the guys at the reception have been so welcoming and helpful with me and the belgium girl I was travelling with.

As far as people is concerned here, I think kiwi are open and reserved at the same time, they won't expose them so much -I mean enthusiam and deep feelings- unless they know you better, but they are definetely friendly and helpful in all the way they can. They won't mind sharing something they have with you and they want to make your experience a good one. So, so far so good, I've made some amazing friends and been looked after from some good people I shared part of my experience over here.

Right now I am on my way to Queenstwon that I will reach tomorrow late in the evening. From there an incredible new adventure is waiting for me and I'm so excited about: a bus will drive me to Milford Sound and a helicopter will take me out to a remote lodge on the west coast in the Fiordland.
